Project Schedule/Status: FY 23: Property acquisition.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project proposes the acquisition of land to be used as active and/or passive park sites. This project is not site specific, thus allowing the purchase of land whenever and wherever it becomes available. Sites to be acquired will include areas of outstanding natural features, stream valley parks, as well as regional and community park sites. Particular attention will be given to preserving open space countywide in cooperation with State and Federal programs and to addressing unmet needs of the high growth areas of the County. Funds for acquisition may be supplemented by other County land acquisition projects or by Recreation Council funds. Additional residential development is anticipated and population growth will generate demand for additional recreation facilities. This project supports the goals and objectives of the 2018 Land Preservation, Parks and Recreation Plan and its Capital Improvement Program recommendations.
