United Transportation Work Program

To provide financial assistance to the County from BMC supporting the Regional Transportation Planning Process that is essential to the work program outlined in the federally mandated Metropolitan Organization. Work activities include preparation of the Transportation Improvement Program to Regional Cooperative forecasting of population growth throughout the region. Funds are provided to purchase interests in real property from willing sellers, including fee estates, easements and other interests in real property, for preservation of land in key areas of Maryland enhancing natural resource, agricultural, forestry and environmental protection. Grant provides additional funds to hire a consultant to develop Historic Preservation Design Guidelines This grant supports staff in implementing the Harford County Chesapeake Bay Critical Area Management Program. The grant contributes to the salary of one or more full time budget funded employees and sometimes includes the cost of printing, postage, etc.

This grant helps offset a portion of salary and fringe benefits for one Park Naturalist who oversees ACLE programming and one Building Attendant who provides custodial services to the facility. To provide sanitation services at various boating facilities; i.e., Mariner Point Park, Flying Point Park, Otter Point, Willoughby Beach Landing and Swan Harbor. This grant provides therapeutic recreation to Harford County participants (ages 3-21) with varying disabilities throughout the summer.
