ORIGIN/PURPOSE: The Jury Commissioner is responsible for developing and maintaining procedures for random selection of Grand and Petit Jurors in accordance with applicable statutes and local jury selection plans and regulations. Additionally, the Jury Commissioner is charged with efficient and effective management of the jury selection process and oversight and control of general office administration to ensure proper selection and usage of jurors. FY 24 GOALS: TO CONTINUE TO REVIEW THE JURY SELECTION PROCESS IN ORDER TO BRING IT IN CONFORMANCE WITH STATE LAW REGARDING THE SELECTION OF JURORS TO CONTINUE TO USE ALL REASONABLE MEASURES TO ENSURE THAT JURORS ARE NOT BROUGHT IN UNLESS THEIR PRESENCE WILL BE NECESSARY TO RESOLVE A CASE TO MINIMIZE THE INCONVENIENCE OF SERVING ON JURY DUTY TO THE CITIZENS OF HARFORD COUNTY AND TO REDUCE JURY EXPENDITURES
