ORIGIN & PURPOSE: Harford County has one of the largest veteran populations per capita in the State. They may require assistance in accessing various benefts and services to support their transition to civilian life. Recognizing this need, a dedicated ofce was created to provide support and assistance tailored to veterans' specifc needs. It assists veterans by helping with access to benefts. It serves as a central point of contact for veterans seeking information and assistance. It advocates on behalf of veterans to ensure their voices are heard and their interests are represented in local government policies and initiatives. It conducts outreach and educational activities to raise awareness about available resources and support services for veterans. Finally, it provides emergency assistance to veterans facing fnancial hardship or other crises.
