ORIGIN & PURPOSE: The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region (The Arc NCR) empowers people with difering abilities (intellectual and developmental disabilities) to live, work and thrive in the community. The organization is a private, non-proft local chapter of the Arc Maryland and the Arc of the United States, the largest national community based organization devoted exclusively to improving the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities. The Arc NCR is funded by Maryland State agencies, federal, state and local grants, private foundations, generous donors and an annual contribution from Harford County Government. The Arc NCR helps people with difering abilities build better lives one person at a time. The organization currently ofers services in the areas of Community Living, Supporting Employment and Training, Community Partners day program for adults, Treatment Foster Care, Family Support Services, Personal Supports, Services for Transitioning Youth and Transportation. The Arc NCR supports people with difering abilities to create lives that mirror yours and mine: students attending neighborhood schools, adults going to work and living in their own homes, children living in a safe and supportive home, and individuals enjoying the social and recreational opportunities in their communities.

GOAL: To minimize staf turnover and to increase retention in order to maintain a qualifed workforce
