ORIGIN & PURPOSE: The School Policing Unit is responsible for the public school-based activities of the Harford County Sherif's Ofce. Personnel in this division include uniformed law enforcement deputies (School Resource Ofcers) and part-time School Crossing Guards. The functions of the School Policing Unit fall under the oversight of Patrol Operations, but for better budgeting and accounting purposes, the expenses of the School Policing Unit are allocated to Index 211400 (School Safety).
