INSPECTIONS, LICENSES & PERMITS Director of DILP Cost Center 261000

ORIGIN & PURPOSE: The Director of DILP is charged with the performance of all functions and duties within the Department, including: enforcement of electrical, HVACR/Mechanical, plumbing and building codes; enforcement of mobile home park and abandoned ordinances; and enforcement of codes and ordinances through issuance and sales of licenses, permits, and inspections. The Director renders permits and inspection services through cooperative agreements with the Town of Bel Air, City of Aberdeen, and City of Havre de Grace and coordinates a centralized computer system encompassing all licensing programs and building, electrical HVACR/Mechanical, and plumbing permits. On-line terminals with the County's mainframe allow direct revenue accountability and statistical data entry. In addition, this ofce closely monitors divisional eforts, adopt and/or revise applicable trade codes and fee schedules and performance of timely review of building permits by other departments and agencies. The Director also coordinates the County's Fast Track Program.
