FY 26 Approved Operating Budget
FACTORS CONTRIBUTING TO CURRENT PERFORMANCE:
The need for advanced life support on all Medic units. Having more paramedics staff can deploy more strategically across the region, leading to faster ALS responses. Improve shift coverage while preventing in ALS gaps during peak hours. Decrease the burnout risk, fatigue, and stress. As a solo paramedic the responsibility relies on them to upgrade all ALS calls in a 24 hours time period. Improved decision making with dual ALS allows for better cognitive performance during critical decision (RSI and whole blood for examples).
Performance Measure 6: ABOUT THIS MEASURE:
This measures and focuses on how efficiently and safely emergency vehicles are operated.
WHAT IS BEING DONE AND WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO TRACK:
FACTORS CONTRIBUTING TO CURRENT PERFORMANCE: Factors include experience, EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operating Course), Complacency, Fatigue, Driver under distress or high emotion. This metric is important to track to improve responder safety, public safety, traffic flow, and reduce liability. We currently have Angel Tracks which is video dash cams. Each Medic unit is equipped with this technology. EMS also piloted a program HOT/COLD to determine if emergency lights will be utilized when responding to medical emergencies.
