PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Local Education Agencies (LEAs) are required to safely operate and maintain public school facilities in a manner which supports students, teachers, employees, and building use by the public. Harford County Public Schools (HCPS) owns, operates and maintains 180 school and administrative buildings, more than 6.2 million square feet of space positioned on approximately 1,920 acres of land. Local Major Capital Projects are capital improvements that are not eligible for state funding because of age of the system being less than 15 years, scope, scale, or due to the improvement not being in a school facility.
