PROJECT DESCRIPTION: As a result of the effects of per and polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS) contamination on public health and the environment, multiple class action settlements have been entered to resolve liability. Harford County has three drinking water plants and three drinking water sources as well as three wastewater treatment plants. This funding will provide for additional resources necessary to ensure compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other regulatory agencies for proper monitoring, treatment, and testing related to PFAS contamination.
