Fallston Farmers Club Bill Amoss

The Fallston Farmers Club started on February 25th, 1884, with the purpose of bringing together farmers to discuss agricultural production technics and share their experiences on their farms and a social aspect that always included dinner. Members included families like Amoss, Harlan, Hollingsworth, Scarff, Watson, Preston, Twining, and other families which today include some of the same families of those beginning members. Each month a farm tour would start off the meeting with a discussion of the farm operation along with a guest speaker to discuss a related topic and conclude with a fine dinner and dessert before departing back to their own farms. This tradition continues today, certainly, the production practices, equipment, and technology have been updated but the same fellowship from generation to generation continues.
