My great-grandfather was an architect and built the house on the property in 1891 for B.J. Clark. When Mr. Clark died in the late 1880s, my family purchased the property. The family had roots in the area before this time, but John Grier moved to the property from Greenspring Valley.

One mile of Deer Creek runs through the property.
