Their two sons, James Floyd Edwards and Robert Edwards and Robert Lester Edwards formed a partnership named Edwards Brothers Dairy in 1942. They built the big white barn in 1948 using lumber from the property they milled themselves. The barn had 74 stanchions for milking Holstein cows. They also produced tomatoes, corn, hay, and grain. In the early 60s, James Floyd Edwards and his wife Ruth bought out his brother Robert Lester and owned the farm until their son Lester Eugene Edwards and his wife Celeste bought the farm in 1975, renaming it Chestnut Hill Farm. They continued milking Holstein cows until 1995 and today they still farm corn, soybeans, rye, hay, and livestock.
