TREASURY Water and Sewer Accounting Index #045000
ORIGIN/PURPOSE:
The Water and Sewer Accounting division, pursuant to Chapter 16, Article III, Section 17, is responsible for billing all charges associated with the water and sewer system and for providing detailed information and reporting on these charges.
The County's water and sewer system operates as an enterprise fund, whereby users pay for all costs of providing water and sewer service.
Water and Sewer Accounting is the only division in the Department of Treasury supported by the Water and Sewer Fund.
FY 23 GOALS: TO PROVIDE TECHNICAL ACCOUNTING OVERSIGHT AND GUIDANCE TO COUNTY AGENCIES AND EXTERNAL CUSTOMERS TO ENSURE THAT GENERALLY ACCEPTED ACCOUNTING PROCEDURES, LEGAL REQUIREMENTS, COUNTY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES ARE CONSISTENTLY APPLIED IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN THE INTEGRITY OF THE COUNTY'S ACCOUNTING RECORDS, AND FULLY MEET ALL REPORTING REQUIREMENTS LEVERAGE GRANTS TO CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROWTH AND ENHANCEMENT OF THE COUNTY'S GOALS
