ORIGIN/PURPOSE:

The Director of Planning and Zoning is responsible for the performance of all functions within the Department to ensure development activity within the County is consistent with related regulations (e.g., development, zoning) and the County's Master Plan, thus preserving the general integrity and welfare of the community. The Director supervises, directs, and supports agency personnel and programs and is responsible for maintaining guidelines.

The Director is mandated to revise and enforce the rules and regulations governing the physical development and growth of the County.
