Harford County Sheriff's Office - Anticipated FY 23 Grants

State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP)

This grant provides federal funding to localities that incurred correctional costs for incarcerating undocumented criminal aliens with at least one felony or two misdemeanor convictions for violations of state or local law and have been incarcerated for at least four consecutive days during the reporting period. These funds are used to pay overtime and related FICA for correctional officers to fill in when there is a staff shortage. This funding will be utilized to obtain equipment necessary for Patrol and the Traffic unit to engage in speed enforcement.
