Performance Measure 1: Monitoring Retention Rates of Employees ABOUT THIS MEASURE:

Monitor retention rates of employees.

WHAT IS BEING DONE AND WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO TRACK:

FACTORS CONTRIBUTING TO CURRENT PERFORMANCE: Our turnover rate helps by forecasting hiring personnel in the years to come. This key metric helps gauge employees satisfaction and see if they see value in staying with Harford County DES. If we notice a low retention rate this can indicate disconnect with employees satisfaction. Monitoring retention rate is crucial to workforce performance. We are ensuring compliance with a minimum staffing level of two clinicians per unit along with management staff. Provides staffing stability and consistency in service delivery. This allows employees to become experts in the field, while navigating their jurisdiction with ease. As far as a quality standpoint, employees are trained within the department allowing consistency on knowledge and education. Retention rates are also important to reduce onboarding cost, resource depletion in regards to orientation.
