Special Operations Technicians need to be proficient in the tasks for their job. Personnel maintain this proficiency by training

We provide training to meet our job performance requirements (JPRs) on a monthly basis.

WHAT IS BEING DONE AND WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO TRACK:

We have to meet training requirements set by NFPA (National Fire Protection Agency) and OSHA/MOSHA . Personnel need to meet a minimum number of hours for HazMat and Technical Rescue to meet NFPA/OSHA Compliance.

We provide training specific to the different rescue/hazmat disciplines for all members. Our personnel are part-time, many

Are the responses handled with the appropriate number of people to safely handle the incident.

WHAT IS BEING DONE AND WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO TRACK:

Minimum staffing is required to provide a safe work environment. Our operations requires staffing to provide trained and qualified personnel on the scene of a incident. Crews can work tirelessly and need to be rotated every 20-30 minutes.

FACTORS CONTRIBUTING TO CURRENT PERFORMANCE:

Paid on Call staffing is based on the availability of personnel to respond to incidents. The members have full-time jobs and respond when they are available. Lack of full-time personnel and conflicting work schedules hamper our personnel.

WHAT IS BEING DONE AND WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO TRACK:

Our personnel respond from home to Forest Hill Station to respond a unit for a call. Our Crew Chiefs respond to the scene. Travel time from residence to Forest Hill station reduces our response time. the NFPA guidelines for travel time 5min 20sec(320sec). Plans are to place response apparatus in the Belcamp Area and Whiteford area to reduce response times.
