The original family farm owner (Rufus Low) lived to be over 100 years old (1826-1926) and was a candidate for the Maryland House of Delegates. A blacksmith shop was once located near the road edge to provide services to those traveling to the area. Our farm was previously owned by a prominent merchant for which the road is named. The farm name was created by the current owners. "The Willows" in recognition of the 3 family names that have owned the farm (Wilson, Lowe, Smith), and "Lowe Point" in recognition of the struggles faced by each generation surrounding this farm. No other name is known to have been associated with the farm in the past.
